The working principle of the three-piece flanged ball valve is based on the sealing fit between the ball and the seat, and the rotating movement of the ball in the valve body. Specifically, when the handle or actuator drives the ball to rotate 90 degrees, the through hole of the ball is aligned or staggered with the inlet and outlet passage of the valve, thus enabling the opening or closing of the fluid.

In the closed state, the through hole on the ball is staggered with the inlet and outlet channels of the valve to form a sealing barrier. At this point, the ball and the seat are tightly fitted with sealing materials (such as PTFE, metal seals, etc.) to ensure that the fluid cannot leak. When the handle or actuator drives the ball to rotate 90 degrees, the through hole on the ball is aligned with the inlet and outlet channel of the valve, and the fluid can pass smoothly.

Self-cleaning structure of sealing surface: When the ball tilts away from the seat, the fluid in the pipeline passes 360° evenly along the sealing surface of the ball, which not only eliminates the local erosion of the high-speed fluid on the seat, but also washes away the accumulation on the sealing surface to achieve the purpose of self-cleaning.
